If there is an indication that a patient’s cancer has returned or progressed, care should be provided under the guidance of a treating specialist. Each patient should be referred back to the original multidisciplinary team. The multidisciplinary team may include new members such as palliative care specialists.

The Quick Reference Guides (QRG) are for health professionals and health services. They provide a summary of each optimal care pathway for health professionals and patients.
The Quick Reference Guides include:
• optimal timeframes within which tests or procedures should be completed
• checklists with indicators related to recommendations in the optimal care pathway
Users can navigate between the Quick Reference Guide and the relevant Cancer types by selecting the icon at the top of the screen:
Select the star icon to the right of every OCP entry to populate your My Favourites list. This creates a bespoke quick view of the sections of the OCPS and QRGs that you want to reference easily.
Select this icon to view the range of multimedia content associated with the Optimal Care Pathways. This includes expert podcast sessions and videos that can enrich the understanding of the material.
